Wildfire Designs Alaska Maritime's Most Wanted Octopus Applique Quilt Pattern

This wall hanging can be made individually or combined with the other three Maritime's Most Wanted series of Sea Otter, Horned Puffin and Tufted Puffin patterns to create a large 41 1/2" x 41 1/2" combined wall hanging. The last photo shows the combined wall hanging using all four patterns designed with Dana's new From the Depths batik fabric line by Hoffman Fabrics. 

The octopus was the inspiration behind the From the Depths batik fabric line. An octopus can squeeze their body through any space as long as their beak fits, hard to believe but true. 

Wildfire Designs Alaska patterns are designed for fusible applique, so I recommend that you use an Applique Pressing Sheet. The pattern contains a layout guide, full size pattern pieces, and instructions. Although the instructions do not say this, all the applique pieces should be sewn down to the quilt top after fusing using the stitch of your choice (straight stitch, zig-zag, buttonhole or satin stitch).
